Public investment planning to maximise the economic multiplier effects of supply chain expenditure on local industry competitiveness.

CASE NOTE from Mozambique
Local Content Policy Options
Under contract to the Africa Centre for Economic Transformation, LCS provided advice on policy options to regulators in Mozambique. The country has a history of on-shore gas development, but with new discoveries of off-shore hydrocarbons the Government is considering its overall policy towards local content. The process is on-going but may need to consider the trade-offs between immediate jobs, sustainable employment, local supplier competitiveness, project delivery and attracting further inward investment.
