Michael Warner, Director
- Local Content Strategy and Procurement
Dr Warner has 20 years experience aligning business strategy with the socio-economic priorities of host countries. He is the architect of BG Group's policy and procurement-based procedures for Local Content management, and the Groups risk-based approach to supply chain sustainability. He was Co-ordinator for the Oil, Gas and Mining Secretariat of the World Bank programme on Business Partners for Development, and Research Fellow with the Overseas Development Institute managing the Business and Development programme. He has worked in Europe, Africa, Central and S.E Asia, the Middle East and Latin America, and on assignments for BP, Shell, BG, World Bank, IFC, DFID, UNDP, FAO, WEF, Anglo American, Alcan, AMEC, Balfour Beatty, Sodexho and others.

Mike Oakey
- Contracts and Procurement Engineer
Michael Oakey is a contracts and commercial manager with 35 years experience with contractors and their clients. He has held senior positions on a wide range of construction and civil engineering projects (water process plant, road improvement schemes, power, equipment supply, oil and gas construction projects), and is experienced in construction, engineering and all aspects of project controls, procurement and contract management, including cost engineering, bid evaluation and contract award, legal agreements and claims negotiation and adjudication. He has experience in UK, Nigeria, Angola, Russia, Kazakhstan, Oman and Libya.

Scott Houston is an economist with extensive policy and management consulting experience in sustainable development and the extractive industries at national and international levels. As a senior staff member of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM) and its predecessor ICME, he has been intimately involved in assisting the minerals industry transition to a sustainable business model. Scott has assisted corporate clients in the development of SD strategies, social performance systems and reports and benchmarking corporate governance frameworks against international standards and voluntary initiatives.

Dr Odon has worked with BG Group at Headquarters advising on Local Content Strategy, and subsequently with BG Nigeria in Lagos on navigation of Local Content policies and regulations. He is experienced in the development of pre-qualification and tender packages to deliver Local Content strategy, and in managing e-procurement platforms to ensure fair access to national suppliers. He specialises in working with SMEs to develop business plans and access risk finance to realise local supply chain opportunities
